The Vixen SW 8x25WP pairs a super-wide 75.2° apparent field (old JIS standard; 66.7° under the current standard) with a long 18.3 mm eye relief - a combination that super-wide binoculars traditionally lacked. Vixen achieved it by shortening the optical path between eyepiece and prism, so even glasses wearers can take in the whole scene.

It uses BaK4 Porro prisms with a mirror, Perfect Fully Multi-coated (PFM) optics, extra aperture stops and a matte interior to fight stray light and ghosting. The waterproof, nitrogen-filled body comes in a matte earth tone and weighs 333 g.
