The Vixen APEX J HR8x42WP is a Japanese-made 8x 42 mm roof prism binocular with ED (extra-low dispersion) objective glass that keeps colour fringing to a minimum for sharp, clear images. Vixen pitches the APEX J at concerts and live events, and it is just as capable for birds and wildlife.

Every lens surface is fully multi-coated and the prisms carry phase-correction and high-reflectivity coatings. Large 22 mm eyepiece lenses with twist-up eyecups give 17.5 mm of eye relief, the body is nitrogen-filled and O-ring sealed against water, and it weighs 605 g.
