The Vanguard Spirit XF 8x42 is an entry-level roof-prism binocular built around BaK4 prisms with phase coating and fully multi-coated lenses for clear, high-contrast views with good colour. It has an open-bridge body that keeps it light and compact (150 x 130 mm, about 670 g), so it is comfortable to carry all day.
It is waterproof and fogproof, and textured rubber armour gives a secure grip and some shock protection. It shows 136 m at 1000 m, focuses down to 2.1 m, and has multi-position twist-out eyecups with long eye relief for glasses wearers.
