The Rossi R92 (sold here as the Puma Classic) is a lever-action rifle based on the classic 1892 design, chambered in .44 Magnum with a 610 mm (24") octagonal barrel and Brazilian hardwood stock.

With an adjustable buckhorn rear sight and polished stainless metalwork, it suits hunters, cowboy action shooters and lever-gun collectors.

Common questions

What do I need to buy this firearm?

A current firearms licence for the right category and a Permit to Acquire (PTA) for this firearm. In NSW you apply for the PTA through Service NSW, and since 1 July 2026 it is only issued once police have inspected your safe storage. Licensed in another state? Apply for your own state's permit and we will ship to a dealer near you. We cannot release a firearm until we have sighted your PTA.

How long does a PTA take?

The NSW Firearms Registry sets the timing, not us. PTAs have recently taken up to 90 days, partly because of the new storage inspections, so apply early. We cannot speed up or check on a PTA for you; contact the Registry for its status.

Can I order now while my PTA is being processed?

Yes. Order online or in store and add your PTA number when you have it. In-stock firearms can be held with a 50% deposit, with the balance due within 30 days; firearms we order in for you are paid in full when ordered. Paid firearms are stored free for 3 months while you wait.

How do I get my firearm?

Collect it free from our store at 19 Babbage Road, Roseville Chase, bringing your licence and PTA. Or we ship dealer to dealer: choose "Ship to my dealer" and enter your dealer's details. Freight for long arms is $65 ($85 to WA, Perth metro dealers only), and your dealer may charge a receiving fee.

How many firearms can I own in NSW?

Since 24 December 2025 most licence holders are limited to 4 firearms. If your genuine reason is sport or target shooting, primary production, rural occupation, animal welfare, business or employment, or vertebrate pest control, the limit is 10. A PTA that would take you over your limit is refused.

Can I pay with PayPal?

No. PayPal is not available for firearms, ammunition or other regulated items. Pay by card or bank transfer online, or pay in store.
