Frequently Asked Questions
How far can the GLINT G6 see?
RIX rates detection at 2,600 m — the distance at which a heat source shows on screen. Recognising what an animal is happens closer than that, and rain, fog and high humidity all shorten thermal range.
How does it mount, and what recoil can it take?
Mounting: Picatinny Mount. Recoil rating: 1000 g.
How long does the battery last?
RIX quotes 7 h. Battery: 21700 and compatible with 18650.
Does it connect to a phone?
Yes. It connects over Wi-Fi to the RIX+ app for live view, photo and video download and firmware updates.
Can I use a thermal or night-vision device for hunting in Australia?
Rules on thermal and night-vision equipment differ between states and between public and private land. Check your state's hunting and firearms regulations, and the conditions of any permit or property access, before using it in the field.
Australian stock, supported locally by RIX Optics Australia: a 3-year warranty on all complete RIX devices, extended by a further 2 years on registration for thermal devices with a 384 × 288 or higher sensor.
