The Pixfra Volans V850 LRF is a digital day/night riflescope built around a 4K starlight CMOS sensor (3840 x 2160) and a 50 mm lens with an adjustable F1.2-F3.0 aperture, letting it adapt from bright daylight to low light while avoiding overexposure. Pixfra quotes 4.3x base magnification and 1,000 m daytime detection.
The image is shown on a native 1.25-inch round 800 x 800 display with 70 mm eye relief, matching the look of a conventional day scope. An integrated laser rangefinder (1,000 m, ±1 m) feeds the onboard ballistic calculator. It records to 64 GB, supports app zeroing through the Pixfra Outdoor app, takes a quick-release external battery and has a full-metal IP67 body rated for 1,000 g / 0.4 ms recoil.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the Volans V850 and V850 LRF?
Both share the 4K starlight sensor, 50 mm F1.2-F3.0 lens, 4.3x base magnification, round 800 x 800 display, 70 mm eye relief, ballistic calculator and 64 GB storage. The V850 LRF adds an integrated 1,000 m (±1 m) laser rangefinder that feeds the ballistic calculator; it is about 16 mm taller and around 43 g heavier (≤1,040 g vs ≤997 g without battery).
Is this a thermal scope?
No. Volans is a digital day/night scope using a starlight CMOS sensor. It sees in daylight and low light; in very dark conditions it relies on ambient light or an IR illuminator, and it does not detect heat like a thermal scope. Pixfra quotes a 1,000 m daytime detection range.
How long does the battery last?
Pixfra quotes at least 5.5 h at 25 °C with Wi-Fi off from one external rechargeable lithium battery, which swaps via a twist-release cover. It can also be powered via USB-C.
Does it connect to an app?
Yes. It has a Wi-Fi hotspot and works with the Pixfra Outdoor app, which also offers quick zeroing with adjustable X/Y positions.
Can I legally fit this to my rifle?
Rules on weapon-mounted thermal and night-vision sights differ between Australian states and territories, and some jurisdictions restrict or prohibit them. Check the current rules with your state or territory firearms registry before you buy, and make sure you hold the right licence and permits.
