Frequently Asked Questions
How does it compare with other Pard thermal scopes?
Pard's current thermal riflescopes (official specifications): Pantera 256 Mini – 256×192 sensor, 25 mm lens, 1920×1080 OLED, 1200 m detection, LRF optional. Pantera Q – 480×360 (35/50 mm, 1800/2600 m) or 640×512 (50 mm, 2600 m), 1600×1200 OLED, 1000 m LRF optional. Pantera eX 640 – 640×512, NETD ≤14 mK, 35 or 50 mm lens, 2560×2560 OLED round display, 2600 m detection (50 mm), 1000 m LRF optional. Pantera 640 2.0 – 640×512, 75 mm lens, 800×800 IPS round display, 2900 m detection, 1000 m LRF. Ocelot Q – 480×360 (35/50 mm) or 640×512 (50 mm), 1920×1080 OLED, compact 225 mm body, 1000 m LRF.
How far can I actually see an animal?
Pard quotes a maximum detection distance for a human-sized target. Detection only means a heat source shows up on screen; recognising what the animal is, and positively identifying it before a shot, happens at much shorter distances depending on the animal's size, the weather and the background.
Does this version have a rangefinder?
Yes – a 1000 m laser rangefinder integrated into the lens, with ballistic calculator.
How long does the battery last?
Up to 8 hours using the built-in 21700 and removable 18650 batteries.
Does it connect to a phone?
Yes. Built-in Wi-Fi links to Pard's PardVision2 app, which lets a phone act as an external viewfinder for sharing or watching what the shooter sees.
What mount does it need?
Pard's specification sheet does not list the ring or rail size for this model, so confirm mount compatibility for your rifle before ordering.
Can I mount this on my rifle anywhere in Australia?
Rules for weapon-mounted night vision and thermal devices differ between states and territories, and some jurisdictions restrict or prohibit them. Check the current requirements with your state firearms registry before you buy or fit one to a rifle.
