The Lee 22 ARC Factory Crimp Die (limited production) uses a collet to apply a firm rifle-type crimp to the case neck. The collet is strong enough to form its own crimp, so bullets do not need a crimp groove.

A firm crimp improves accuracy because pressure must build to a higher level before the bullet starts to move, giving a more uniform pressure curve and less velocity variation. It is a valuable addition for hunting ammunition or where magazine length stops the bullet being seated out to the rifling.
