Hornady Critical Defense 410 Triple Defense is a 410 bore personal-defence load with a three-projectile column: two 35 calibre round balls topped by a 41 calibre FTX slug. The slug engages the rifling of 410-chambered revolvers and lands nose-first, while the round balls widen the hit area.
Hornady says the pattern places all projectiles on a man-sized target at seven yards (about 6.4 m). The load is rated at 229 m/s (750 fps) with 399 J (294 ft-lb) at the muzzle. Supplied in a box of 20.
