Conotech's Aquila series are compact thermal monoculars built around genuine one-hand use, with finger-wheel focusing, a highly sensitive 12 µm sensor and a dual-battery system that runs for up to 10 hours and can be hot-swapped in the field.

The Aquila 650LIIR is the flagship: a 640x512 sensor with a 50 mm lens and 2.7–14x zoom, plus Conotech's patented LIIR laser rangefinder built into the lens for 5–1200 m ranging. Conotech rates detection of a 1.7 m target at 3541 m.

Key Features

  • Highly sensitive sensor – A 12 µm uncooled VOx detector with NETD under 20 mK keeps detail clear in fog, rain, dust and low-contrast conditions.
  • LIIR rangefinder in the lens – Conotech's patented LIIR design aligns the laser and infrared axes for precise 5–1200 m ranging, accurate to ±1 m.
  • True one-hand operation – Finger-wheel focusing works equally well for left- and right-handed users.
  • Dual battery, 10 hours – A built-in battery plus a removable external battery give up to 10 hours of use.
  • Non-stop power – Swap the external battery without switching the device off.
  • Quick charge – Reaches 90% charge in about one hour; the battery compartment doubles as a stand-alone charger.
  • Spectacle friendly – An eyepiece adjustment mechanism makes viewing easier for glasses wearers.
  • Record and share – Photo, video and audio recording to 32 GB of built-in memory, with Wi-Fi video output.
  • IP67 rated – Sealed against dust and water for hard field use.

Best For

  • Long-range glassing of open country for deer and pigs
  • Ranging foxes before a shot during night control
  • Spotting and ranging for a shooting partner

Frequently Asked Questions

How does it compare with the rest of the Aquila range?

Aquila 325: 384x288, 25 mm, 2.4–10x, detection 1770 m, no LRF; Aquila 335: 384x288, 35 mm, 3.3–13.8x, detection 2479 m, no LRF; Aquila 3D 19/38: 384x288, dual 19/38 mm, detection 1346/2692 m, no LRF; Aquila 3D 25/50: 384x288, dual 25/50 mm, detection 1770/3541 m, no LRF; Aquila 350LIIR: 384x288, 50 mm, 4.8–20x, detection 3541 m, 1200 m LRF; Aquila 635: 640x512, 35 mm, 1.9–10x, detection 2479 m, no LRF; Aquila 6D 19/38: 640x512, dual 19/38 mm, detection 1346/2692 m, no LRF; Aquila 6D 25/50: 640x512, dual 25/50 mm, detection 1770/3541 m, no LRF; Aquila 650LIIR: 640x512, 50 mm, 2.7–14x, detection 3541 m, 1200 m LRF. Detection figures are for a 1.7 m target.

How far can it see?

Conotech rates detection of a 1.7 m target at 3541 m and recognition at 1180 m. Detection means spotting a heat source; telling what the animal is happens at much shorter range and varies with weather and terrain.

How long does the battery last?

Up to 10 hours at 22 °C using the built-in and external batteries together. The external battery can be swapped without turning the unit off, and quick charge reaches 90% in about an hour.

Is there an app?

Yes. Wi-Fi provides external video output, and firmware can be updated through the app.

How accurate is the rangefinder?

It measures from 5 m to 1200 m with ±1 m accuracy, and the LIIR design keeps the laser and thermal axes aligned.
