The Browning X-Bolt Target Max Competition Heavy is a factory precision rifle designed for Precision Rifle Series (PRS) Production Class shooting, where out-of-the-box accuracy matters most. Extra mass from a stiffer full-diameter receiver, a 1" (25.4 mm) bull barrel and a nylon-filled Max stock steadies the rifle for long-range work.

This model is chambered in .308 Win with a 660 mm (26") heavy stainless bull barrel, takes AICS-pattern magazines and ships with a 10-round MDT magazine. It weighs 5.44 kg.

• Heavy full-diameter receiver – A stiffer receiver with an alignment flat for levelling the scope and a pinned recoil lug for repeatable barrel swaps.
• 20 MOA Picatinny rail – Secured with four oversize 8-40 screws plus a steel pin for a rock-solid optic mount.
• Target DLX trigger – Three-lever design with no creep, take-up or overtravel, adjustable from 2 to 3.3 lb (0.9–1.5 kg) and factory set at 2.5 lb (1.1 kg).
• Xtra Capacity magazine system – Uses AICS-pattern magazines in 5- and 10-round sizes; the magazine well can be used as a barricade stop.
• Match-grade bull barrel – 660 mm (26") barrel, 25.4 mm (1") at the muzzle, with 5/8"-24 suppressor-ready thread and a removable Recoil Hawg brake.
• Adjustable Max stock – Height-adjustable comb, length-of-pull spacers and a vertical grip suited to standing, seated and prone positions.
• ARCA/Swiss rail and QD cups – Factory-fitted ARCA rail for tripods and bipods, plus QD sling cups on the side of the stock.
• Long bolt handle – Reduces opening effort for faster cycling under time pressure.
