Buying Over & Under Shotguns in Australia

Magnum Sports lists about 240 over-and-under shotguns, with nearly 120 available to buy today from Beretta, Miroku, Blaser, Yildiz, Akkar, Webley & Scott, Rizzini, Bettinsoli, Benelli, Chapuis, ATA Arms and Verney-Carron, in 12, 20, 28 gauge and .410. The range runs from entry field guns to trap, skeet and sporting competition guns and hand-finished bespoke guns.

Over-and-under shotguns are Category A in NSW — the entry licence category, and the reason they are the most common first shotgun. Every firearm purchase in NSW needs a current licence in the right category and a Permit to Acquire (PTA) for that firearm; since 1 July 2026 a PTA is only issued once you show you meet the safe-storage requirements, and licences now run for a maximum of two years. Interstate buyers order online and we transfer dealer to dealer to your nominated licensed dealer (longarm freight $65, $85 to WA; handguns $30). Ammunition is sold for collection in store only and is never shipped.

Entry over-and-unders start at about $1,100, most sporting, trap and field guns sit between $2,000 and $9,000, and premium and bespoke guns from Beretta, Blaser, Rizzini and Chapuis run from $15,000 to well over $100,000.

Choose the barrel length and rib for the discipline: 28–30 inch multichoke for sporting clays and field, 30–32 inch high rib for trap, 26–28 inch for walked-up hunting, and 20 gauge or 28 gauge for lighter recoil. Gun fit matters more than brand — our staff can check length of pull, drop and cast before you buy, and adjustable-comb models are available. Cartridges from Winchester, Fiocchi, Trust, Eley and Norma are stocked for collection in store.
