      Buying 7.62x54mmR Ammunition in Australia

Magnum Sports lists 6 loads of 7.62x54R, with 4 available today, from Sellier & Bellot and Highland. The 7.62x54R is a rimmed Russian rifle cartridge from the 1890s used in Mosin-Nagant rifles. In Australia it is shot by military-rifle collectors and used for deer and pigs.

A NSW dealer may only sell ammunition to a person holding a licence or permit for a firearm of that calibre, and Magnum Sports sights the licence at the counter. All ammunition is collection only from the store at Roseville Chase; it is never posted or couriered, but you can order online to have it put aside. Bolt-action 7.62x54R rifles are Category B in NSW.

Sellier & Bellot 20-round boxes cost $61–$65, and the 50-round FMJ pack is $116. The Highland 150gr and 180gr soft points are listed at $46 but are currently on order.
