Buying Triggers in Australia

Magnum Sports stocks aftermarket rifle triggers from TriggerTech (Field, Primary, Special, Diamond), Timney (Featherweight, Calvin Elite and others) and Rifle Basix, with models for Tikka T3/T3x, Remington 700 and clones, Howa 1500, Kimber 84, Mauser, Springfield, CZ and Ruger rifles, plus a Glock trigger.

A good aftermarket trigger gives a clean, consistent break and a lighter pull than most factory units, which is the cheapest way to tighten groups. Choose by rifle model first, then pull weight and single- or two-stage. We recommend fitting and safety-testing by a licensed gunsmith.

      Common questions

What is the best aftermarket trigger for a Tikka T3x?
The TriggerTech Tikka Special ($410) for hunting and the TriggerTech Diamond ($699) for precision and competition; both drop in to the T3/T3x action and give a crisp, adjustable break.
TriggerTech or Timney: which is better?
Both are excellent. TriggerTech uses a frictionless release for a very clean, consistent break and offers flat or curved shoes; Timney is a long-proven design with a wide range of models for older and less common actions. Choose the one made for your rifle and preferred pull weight.
Can I fit a trigger myself?
Many are drop-in, but trigger adjustment affects safety, so we recommend fitting and testing by a licensed gunsmith.
