      Buying Savage in Australia

Magnum Sports stocks the Savage Arms range: Axis and Axis II rifles and XP scope packages, the 110 family (Hunter, Apex Hunter XP, Storm, Ultralite, Pro Pursuit, Timberline, Predator, Tactical, Long Range Hunter and Elite Precision), the Impulse straight-pull, 11/12/112 target and F-Class rifles, and rimfires including the Mark II, 93 R17, B22, B17, A17/A22 and Rascal youth rifle, plus magazines and parts.

The Axis is the value centrefire, the 110 adds the AccuTrigger and AccuFit adjustable stock, and the Impulse is Savage's fast straight-pull. Straight-pull rifles are set to move to Category C when the 2026 NSW firearm reforms commence. Rifles need a current NSW firearms licence for the category and an approved Permit to Acquire; interstate buyers transfer through a licensed dealer.

Prices start at $450 (Rascal), $724 (B22) and $755 (Mark II), with Axis packages from about $1,062, 110 Apex Hunter XP $1,452, 110 Hunter $1,743, Impulse Big Game $3,121 and 110 Ultralite $3,334, up to $6,952 (110 Ultralite Elite).

      Common questions

Is the Savage Axis a good first rifle?
Yes. The Axis and Axis II are accurate, low-cost centrefire rifles, and the XP packages come with a scope mounted and bore-sighted, so it is a complete hunting rifle for about $1,000 to $1,100.
What is the difference between the Savage 110 and the Axis?
The 110 adds the AccuTrigger (user-adjustable, with a safety blade), the AccuFit stock with adjustable length of pull and comb height, and many more stock, barrel and calibre options, from the 110 Hunter and Apex up to the carbon Ultralite and Elite Precision.
Is the Savage Impulse legal in NSW?
Yes, on the appropriate licence. The Impulse is a straight-pull rifle; under the 2026 NSW reforms straight-pull rifles move to Category C once the changes commence, so check the current category with us before you apply for your PTA.
Do you transfer Savage rifles interstate?
Yes. Order online with your licence and permit details and we send the rifle dealer to dealer to your nominated licensed dealer. Ammunition is collected in store only.
