      Buying 7x65mmR Ammunition in Australia

Magnum Sports lists 6 loads of 7x65R, from Norma and Sellier & Bellot, but none are available today. The 7x65R is the rimmed version of the 7x64 and is chambered in European combination guns, drillings and single-shot or double rifles. Australian owners use it for deer and pigs.

7x65R ammunition can only be sold by a NSW dealer to a person holding a licence or permit for a firearm in that calibre; Magnum Sports sights the licence at the counter. Ammunition is collection only from our Roseville Chase store and is never posted or couriered. You can place an order online and we will put it aside when it arrives.

Sellier & Bellot 140gr SP and 173gr SPCE are the entry loads at $78 a box. A typical load is about $103, such as Norma Vulkan or Tipstrike. The lead-free Norma Ecostrike 140gr is $191.

For deer and pigs, the Sellier & Bellot 173gr SPCE and Norma 170gr Vulkan or Oryx are traditional heavy-for-calibre choices. The Norma 160gr Tipstrike suits longer shots in open country, and the Norma 140gr Ecostrike is the lead-free option. Rimmed loads must only be used in rifles chambered for 7x65R, not 7x64.
