Magnum Sports lists 103 air rifles in .22 calibre, and 37 of them can be ordered today. FX Airguns is the largest range, alongside Norica, Diana, Airmaks Arms, Airgun Technology and Kalibrgun, with smaller lines from Evanix, Skout Airguns, Stoeger Airguns, RTI Arms, BSA Guns, Gamo and Crosman. The .22 (5.5 mm) pellet is the heavier of the two common air rifle calibres and is the usual pick for close-range control of rabbits and pest birds. The collection runs from spring and gas-ram break-barrels through to pre-charged pneumatic (PCP) rifles.
Air rifles are Category A in NSW, so you need a current Category A licence and a Permit to Acquire (PTA) for each rifle. Since 1 July 2026 a PTA is only issued once you show you meet the safe-storage requirements, and new and renewed licences run for a maximum of two years. Interstate buyers can order online and the rifle goes dealer to dealer to their nominated licensed dealer for $65 freight ($85 to WA). Pellets are sold against a sighted licence and collected from our Roseville Chase store only.
The Crosman Vital Shot opens the range at $330, with the Norica Titan from $347 and the Diana 260 and 250 just over $400. The median listed price is about $2,200, around the FX Dreamline, FX DRS and Diana XR200 PCP models. At the top end, FX Impact M4 and FX King GRS rifles sit at roughly $3,700–$4,100, and the FX DRS MDT Pro is $5,680.
For a first rabbit and pest-bird rifle, a break-barrel such as the Diana 34 EMS, Diana 350 Panther or Norica Omnia ZRS is simple to run with no air supply to manage. If you shoot often or want more consistency at pest ranges, a PCP is the step up: the FX Dreamline and DRS rifles and the Diana XR200 PCP are the in-stock starting points, with the FX Impact M4 and FX King GRS for dedicated field shooters. PCP rifles need a fill source such as a dive tank or hand pump, so allow for that in the budget.
